What Grok Bot can do for a UK business today, sourced from xAI's own changelog, what is still being worked on, and how we keep the judgement human.
Grok Bot is xAI's team of always-on AI agents, and it is the tool we lean on most at Rise By Digital right now. If you have come from our LinkedIn graphic, it says Let AI do the busywork. Keep the judgement human. This post explains what I mean by that.
There is a lot of noise about AI agents. Everything below marked as available comes from xAI's own changelog or news pages, and anything not out yet is clearly labelled near the end.
In short
- Grok Bot is a team of AI agents from xAI that works in your existing tools.
- Today it can run routines, draft emails, manage files and pass work between Bots, all with your approval.
- It is still in beta, so start with one low-risk job.
What is Grok Bot?
In xAI's words, Grok Bot is a team of always-on agents. Each Bot has its own computer, signs into the tools you already use, and only comes back to you when something needs your approval. You message it like a colleague, and it remembers how you like things done.
It is still in beta, and xAI says it is included with SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and Cursor Teams plans, with its own usage allowance separate from those plans.
The bit that matters for a business owner is simple. It is not a chatbot you ask questions. It is closer to a junior assistant with a laptop who works through a list while you get on with the parts of the job that need you.
If you are weighing up options, we have also compared the top AI tools.
The Bots we run at Rise By Digital
We run a small team of Bots, each with one job. I will keep this generic, because the details involve client accounts, but the shapes are easy to copy:
- An overnight digest. It works through inboxes, calendars and notifications overnight and leaves a short morning summary of what needs a person today.
- An invoice finder. It hunts through email for supplier invoices and receipts, files them in the right folder, and flags anything missing.
- A site auditor. It checks websites for broken links, slow pages and missing page titles, then writes up what to fix first.
- A reporter. It pulls campaign figures together into a plain-English summary we can check before it goes anywhere.
- A blog drafter. It researches and drafts posts into our website as unpublished drafts, ready for a person to edit.
- A social caption writer. It drafts captions in our tone of voice for each platform, for a person to approve.
None of these Bots publishes, sends or spends anything on its own. They do the gathering, checking and first drafts. We do the deciding.

What Grok Bot can do today
Here are the features that matter most for marketing work. Every feature below comes from xAI's official Grok Bot changelog unless linked otherwise.
Scheduled routines
You can ask a Bot to do a job every morning, and it saves it as a routine. xAI's design write-up shows exactly that with a 9am morning briefing. Routines can also be started by a webhook, and you can pause and resume them. This is what makes the overnight digest possible.
Learning by watching
xAI says the best way to teach a Bot your workflow is to ask it to follow along the next time you do the job. It saves the steps as a routine and takes your corrections.
Drafts, not sends
A Bot can write an email or Slack message as a draft for you to review, then Send or Discard it. This works with Gmail and Outlook, and drafts can be formatted with headings and lists. Before an action it cannot undo, such as sending, posting, buying or deleting, a Bot checks your messages for your approval.
Its own email address
Bots can now claim their own address and receive mail there. Anything they send from it waits for your approval on a draft card.
Files and slides
Bots can upload files to Google Drive or OneDrive, or attach them to a Gmail draft. They can also build slide decks and deliver them as PowerPoint files or Google Slides.
Connected apps
Connectors that come with an app, such as Figma, Notion and Canva, can show it as an interactive card in the chat, and QuickBooks Online is available to connect. Bots can also search X and read posts without you connecting an X account.
Bots that hand off work
Bots can message one another and pass work along, and team admins can switch that off if they prefer. It is how our digest Bot can pass a task to a specialist Bot rather than doing everything itself.
Team Bots
For businesses on Teams and Enterprise plans, Team Bots let you publish one Bot for the whole team, so colleagues can chat with it in the app or in Slack, each in their own conversation.
Where the judgement stays human
This is the part I care about most, and it is the same reason AI content still needs human creativity. A Bot can draft a client email in seconds, but it does not know that the client has had a tough month, or that this is the wrong week to suggest a bigger budget. A Bot can spot that cost per lead has risen. It cannot sit across the table and decide, with the client, what to do about it.
So our rules are plain:
- Bots draft. People approve before anything is sent, posted or published.
- Bots never spend money or change a live ad account without a person signing it off, even as Google adds more automation such as AI Max for Search in Google Ads.
- Bots only get access to the accounts their job needs.
- If a Bot is unsure, it asks rather than guesses.
xAI's own teams describe something similar. Writing about their customer support work, they say the team now spends its time setting guardrails and handling the cases that need judgement. In their procurement example, they still revise the Bot's emails to vendors to get the tone right. That matches our experience exactly.

What is still being worked on
This section covers things that are in development or still in testing. None of it should be treated as finished, and I am not giving dates, because xAI has not published any.
xAI has not published a formal roadmap for Grok Bot. What it has said publicly is this:
- Grok Bot as a whole is still in beta. xAI launched it as a beta and still describes it that way, so expect features and behaviour to keep changing.
- Team Bots are in public beta. xAI describes Team Bots as a public beta on Teams and Enterprise plans, so shared team Bots are still being refined.
- Bots that keep working on the same job over time. In its procurement write-up, xAI says it is interested in what Bots can do when they stay on one job for longer, and expects its procurement Bot to find more work on its own before a person needs to step in. That is a direction xAI is exploring, not a feature you can switch on.
The changelog has been updated several times a week since launch, so it is the place to check what is genuinely new.
How to start using Grok Bot without the risk
If you run a UK business and want to try this for your marketing, start small:
- Pick one repetitive job. The morning inbox round-up or gathering last week's figures are good first choices.
- Keep everything as drafts. Let the Bot prepare the work and approve each piece yourself for the first few weeks.
- Give it only the access it needs. If it only needs to read your calendar, do not connect your ad accounts. The ICO's guidance on AI and data protection is a useful starting point.
- Correct it like a new starter. Tell it when it gets something wrong. xAI says Bots learn how you like things done.
To make that first step easier, we have turned the Bots we use into a set of ready-to-use prompts, with all of our client and internal details taken out. Each one walks you through setup, asks which tools you use, and keeps a person in charge of anything that goes out.
